BARBED WIRE
Overview: Barbed wire fencing is one of the most traditional and widely used types of agricultural fencing. It is relatively inexpensive to install, especially over large areas. Constructed in combination with pipe and rail, or pipe h-braces, with t-posts.
Best For: Highly effective at containing docile livestock like cattle.

Maintainability: Moderate maintenance. Coated in zinc it is resistant to rust and corrosion, and is suitable in any climate or temperature
Considerations: Barbed wire can easily be broached by large, aggressive animals. Barbed wire can be harsh on animals if they come into contact with it, so it is not be suitable for all livestock; especially horses.
WOVEN WIRE
Overview: Woven wire fencing, is a versatile option that consists of horizontal and vertical wires forming a grid pattern. Constructed in combination with pipe and top-rail, pipe split-rail, or a combination of these style braces with t-posts.
Best For: Containing various types of livestock—horses, cattle, sheep, goats, poultry—and safeguarding against predators.
Durability: Made from heavy-gauge galvanized steel fiield fences are a robust and sturdy option.
Maintainability:: Generally low maintenance due to their durable construction and ability to withstand weather conditions.
Options: Woven wire fence has many variations, including height and roll length.
- Field fence: comes In a variety of pullouts (distance between the vertical strands) and spacings (distance between the horizontal strands) which begin smaller at the bottom and gradually increase in size.
- Horse Fence: V-mesh and No-climb (2”x4”)

Maintainability: Low maintenance. Usually built with turnbuckles on one end cables can be easily tightened If they become loose over time and through seasons.
Options: Minimal variety in cable size usually ranging from 1/4” - 5/8” thick.
Considerations: Can be easily breached by predators; not good for keeping in smaller animals. Cable fencing is a more expensive option, but is perfect for those looking for security without compromising aesthetics .
